Dear Lord,
There are seasons in life when loss settles over everything and leaves us disoriented. The world feels quieter in the wrong way. Familiar things no longer feel the same. Grief has a way of slowing time, deepening silence, and making the heart feel as though it is carrying something too heavy for words.
As we walk through loss, whether the loss of a loved one, a relationship, a home, a season of life, or a deep hope that has fallen apart, we ask for Your mercy. Meet us in our sorrow, sit in our suffering with us, and catch our tears. Our language has run out, O Lord, and we feel hollowed out by pain and unsure how to move forward.
Remind us that grief is not hidden from You. You are not distant from the brokenhearted, and You are not unmoved by tears. Where there is confusion, bring peace. Where there is anger, bring gentleness. Where there is numbness, bring quiet comfort. Where there is despair, hold us fast and keep us from sinking beneath the weight of sorrow.
Empower people in our lives to surround us with tenderness, patience, and love. And in time, as only You can do, begin to restore what feels shattered within us.
We know that not every wound heals quickly, but we also know that You remain faithful in every valley. Be our refuge, Lord, and carry us when we do not have the strength to carry ourselves.
In Jesus name, Amen.
